The Humming Trees

Behind "The Humming Trees" are violinist Ingeborg Freytag and guitarist and singer Jörg Schneider. Without trees there is no wood, without wood there are no instruments, without instruments there is no sound. The roots of the Humming Trees reach deep into the ground of American folk & blues music. The two not only play their own songs, but also like to interpret those of some of the protagonists of the Mississippi Delta Blues with a deep bow. These include Robert Johnson, Charley Patton and Skip James.

With their debut CD "A Pocket Full Of Songs", recorded as a trio and released in 2022, they gave a number of concerts and were often heard on the radio.

Unfortunately, their friend and musical partner on the double bass, Franz Schwarznau, died suddenly and unexpectedly on September 13, 2022.

Ingeborg and Jörg decided to keep Franz's songs and lyrics alive. They have been playing as a duo since 2023. Completely acoustic, reduced to vocals, guitar and violin. With minimal technical effort. So that you can hear the trees (and maybe even Franz?) humming along when the Humming Trees start playing.
